I am trying to get in touch with Paula Carter. My name is Olga. Our longhair standard dachshund Lisa / 30 lb/ died on December 8. She was 14 y. We are devastated . We lived with dachshunds for 29 y. Our 1st dachshund died , when she was 15 y. old. We are desperately looking for a standard dachshund. There are a lot of miniature dachshunds, but we want only the standard one. We bought Lisa from Patty Brooks. Unfortunately, after her husband died , she moved and stopped breeding. Our home is so empty without Lisa. There was so much love, when Lisa was with us . and now it is so empty without our love to her and her love to us. The great Russian writer told once, that he had 4 dogs and a dachshund. It’s true- dachshund are not like other dogs. It’s such fun to live with dachshunds and it’s so sad and lonely to live without them. Please help us! We are desperately trying to find a puppy . I called and called different people, but so far we can’t find anyone, who have puppy or going to have them . Please help us! We have friends in Germany and they are willing to help us, but it will take a long time to get it from here. Is it impossible to get dachshund in America? We live in NY, Forest Hills.every morning when I do not work- I work in Lenox Hill Hospital – I get out of bed and go for a walk, like I did it with Lisa and think about her. It is easy for me, because when I work, I am so busy . But my husband stay at home alone and he is absolutely devastated and crying and thinking about her. They were buddies. Now when I think about her I am also crying. The life became so sad . But we want a big dachshund. So far all dachshund that we were offered 18 – 20 lb. too small. We used to big one. Please help us!
