Today, we’re discussing giving back to our community. In tough times, I feel this is such a positive way to make changes. And you know what? It makes you feel pretty darn good too! A few years back, Lucy and I rescued a wirehaired dachshund that was literally hours away from being euthanized. According to the woman who runs the small breed rescue here in Detroit, someone had thrown “Rachel” (now named “Chewy”) out a car window on the expressway! When she asked me to foster Rachel, how could I say no????
We nursed Rachel back to health, and in the meantime, my neighbors fell madly in love with her. So see, this story has a happy ending: 1) Rachel wasn’t put down and 2) I get to see her everyday because she lives 4 houses away!
So when I came across this link today, I knew I had to post it here. Spread the word! Dachshunds make great pets, as we all know, and we can save a life and do something good for our community!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love Terri and Lucy
