A psychologist and one-time personnel dean at Emory University in Atlanta, Dr. Jones took early retirement several years ago, which allows him to travel extensively to judge dog shows. He hs been judging since 1966 and has owned and showed a Best in Show Corgi as well as the top winning Schipperke in the history of the breed.
Dr. Jones’s dog activities grow out of his longtime involvement with livestock. He studied animal husbandry and livestock judging in college, along with his majors, English and Psychology. He has also shown livestock — beef cattle and swine — and horses — both hunters and jumpers — and judged horse shows.
He is now approved to judge the Sporting Group, the Hound Group, the Working Group, the Herding Group and 15 additional breeds. He lives in Marietta, Ga.
