Tootsie the Dachshund was six months old when he went missing from his New Jersey home. He was recently rediscovered in the Pittsburgh area thanks to his microchip.
After the Animal Rescue League scanned Tootsie for a microchip, they learned he was registered to a family in Pleasantville, N.J.
“One of our adoption counselors took the extra effort to send a letter saying we have found a dog with a microchip that was related to this address,” said Tifanie Tiberio of the Animal Rescue League. “We mailed it, and several days later we heard back from the family.”
Does it strike anyone else as strange that they used snail mail instead of email or the phone?
